Accommodation of international student in university
For your visa application, some may need proof that already you have a place to stay organized together with the university. Your university can take responsibility over your accommodation confirming that to the relevant immigration authorities.
For first year, some universities guarantee international students’ accommodation. Though, there are strict deadlines for confirming and paying a deposit to secure your place.
a) Staying on campus
In a hostel, a student comes in contact with a number of other students. He acquires many good qualities from them. When a student sees his next-door neighbor daily taking morning exercise, he also gets inspiration. He too tries to be healthy. One good student may become an example for other 25 hostlers. When one is ill, all his hostel fellows try their best to serve him. Mutual cooperation, sympathy, and love are characteristics of hostel life. It will not be an exaggeration to say that only a hostel is the place where an all-round development of personality is possible.
Hostels provide the best atmosphere for study. If students enjoy the hostel life in different ways, they also work very hard when the time comes for it. Weaker students can always get help from their friends. When a careless and negligent student sees his partner or his neighbor competing for position, he also tries to follow his example. Hostel life not only develops the spirit of healthy competition, but also teaches the lesson of mutual cooperation.
b) Renting
Choosing a property that meets your needs is the most important thing. You should think about what type of property you would like to live in (a house or apartment, for example) and whether you would like to live alone or with housemates. Secondly, think about the features you need, such as a car space or a spare room for visiting family and friends. Thirdly, consider factors such as public transport availability, distance to your institution and how much you can afford to pay. When considering your budget, be sure to factor in additional costs such as food and entertainment. If you are having trouble selecting a property, we recommend seeking advice from your institution’s accommodation service.
c) Family home or Homestays
Homestay family offers you a bedroom to live in and communal areas of their house. This gives international students a family and a home during their time studying. It can be a cheaper option depending on the location of where you will be studying.
